Earlier this week I spoke in “Coffee with Jess” about finding your personal style and in it how I found mine. What I love about fashion is history always repeats itself. I love seeing certain very classic trends come back into our modern wardrobe. I always try to find elements of a past time to incorporate into my wardrobe. Spring is my favorite shopping time of the year to do so. Think Betty & Megan Draper of Mad Men dresses, The notebook movie styled swimwear and hair pieces, sunnies from your favorite comic book or decade, and floral flare in tops, shoes and denim from the 60’s-70s.
That all being said, I don’t believe you have to embrace all trends. Stay true to yourself. For example, I’m not much of a fan of the 90s girl trend that made a come back last year. I don’t prefer to walk around in addidas shoes and hoodies, but that’s just me (more power to you if you can rock that trend). I’m also not much of an athleisure girl (not to say I don’t wear it, I just usually don’t leave the house when I do lol.) Seriously y’all, my scrubbing it days in high school were still jeans and a T-shirt. Anyways, I say all that to say this. Although history repeats itself in different fashion trends, there’s something to be said about just being you. With that, here are all my retro inspired fashion trends I will never stop loving. What’s your favorite fashion trend?
