One Top Styled Two Different Ways for Work

one top two different ways.jpg

Let me just start by saying everything I’m wearing is on Summer Sale and if you’re looking to add two classic staple pieces to your Summer Work Wardrobe, you can’t go wrong with some crop wide leg pants (shown in first photo), and the pleated skirt (like what I’m wearing in the second photo). Add in a neutral blouse with feminine details like the ruffle on the collar, and some classic nude pumps with a twist, like the scalloped edge, and you’ve got a feminine, timeless yet modern work look on a budget!

Let’s talk about the pants. Naturally, I tend to gravitate towards dresses and skirts for work, but I’ve found a nice pair of high waisted pants, styled with femininity (like the ruffled blouse and pink lips) and in a classic color or print (like the navy & white stripe combo), can be just as pretty. You will still look polished and professional, yet the soft stretchy fabric of the high waist pants give you an overall relaxed and comfortable feeling.

Shopping Note: Lip color I am wearing here for Summer is “Shocking Pink”. Everything I’m wearing in today’s post fit me true to size. The pretty ruffle blouse is long when un-tucked but not tunic length to wear with leggings. You could definitely style it on the weekends for pre-Fall transitional temps, by wearing it with jeans and some leopard flats, a designer belt with the front tuck, and some cranberry colored lips. Either way you style it, for Summer or Fall, it’s a great quality, basic piece at a great price point that you can layer, dress up, or dress down. Next up…

Now let’s talk about the skirt. I just can’t get over the beautiful Cinderella blue color? This duo would look great with the nude scalloped pumps I am wearing, or some ballet flats with bow detail to up the girlish anti a little bit more even! What I love about it, is the quality material and color. It’s lined and the waist band is a shiny, silk like material, versus a stretchy waist band, which I think looks more polished and rich. It’s also very comfortable and light weight with two small side slits, one on each side, making it perfect for Summer. This one just makes me want to twirl around! Which look would you wear?
