BahaMar Vacay Style

Vacay with Babay

#StandUpToCancer

Ok so first of all let me just try to capture in words how much fun we had at the SLS BahaMar in the Bahamas. They took such incredibly good care of us it truly did make us feel like we were at our home away from home but with an elevated sense of style and serenity to know well enough, we are not at home. We’re on vacation. And for a memorable celebration.

I’m going to share more hotel details and what made us feel so special in a follow up blog post in the Travelosophy segment as I’ve already had many of you reach out via my instagram to plan a potential trip here, but for now if you’re in for some major colorful tropical travel outfit and resort inspo then scroll down for more. All outfit details will be linked under images below.

Beating Cancer - Remission Accomplished!

beating cancer.jpg

Spoiler Alert!!! Yes you read that correctly -- "Remission Accomplished". Today is the last day of Chemo as my husband Mark beat cancer! And not only is he a Hodgkin Lymphoma Survivor, he's a Super-Hero in my mind.

I mean, what kind of husband gets this kind of scary news in February, and still decides to travel in April for a belated 30th birthday trip for his wife? This guy. And it was epically euphoric getting to live life as a normal couple for a few days again and experiencing the DC Cherry Blossoms during peak bloom (a long time bucket list item). We couldn't have been more fortunate that God blessed him with such good health, strength, positive spirits, and a desire to just keep LIVING. We really have learned through this experience that you truly do only live once! Mine as well make it count.

All that being said, believe us, It wasn't always sunshine and roses, despite my colorful Instagram feed. We've been faced with so many trials and tribulations throughout these past 6 months and this battle against Cancer. There's been times where we've felt let down by some friends, judged for our choices by individual family members, or overall just purely overwhelmed with the emotionality that comes a long with such a serious illness like Lymphoma.

It's been really hard for me at times to watch the person I love most suffer in pain from chemo and know there's not much else I can do to make it better other than just being there and doing my best to be positive and a solid rock for him. Other time's its like he has super powers and does so well and is so normal that you forget he is even sick. By the way, he still has more hair, although it has thinned drastically, than most men I know! Oh the irony, when you realize what's really important in life.

Cancer has also brought on total lifestyle changes for us, having to have more will power than ever when it comes to certain financial or monetary desires, traveling, and extracurricular activities we enjoy doing together. At the same time of juggling my blog and taking care of my husband, I've continued to work really hard in order for our lifestyle to not have to change so drastically that it would be shocking or depressing, as well as to allow my husband a stress free, positive environment to just simply relax and heal in, rather than having to go to work and feel miserable. We believe this (in conjunction with modern medicine and your prayers) has really helped him in responding so quickly and so well to treatment, yet sometimes this is a decision I am judged for.

Needless to say, Cancer has been a complete rollercoaster of emotions. It has given us a whole new perspective on life in general. It's taught us to value our true friends and supportive family members that much more, to not take life or anything in life for granted, and to live your life on purpose, free of care from what others may think of you. It's taught us to be happy and to live more in the moment. To value and put each other first. To be strong as a unit, not as one. To find our own happiness and flow in our daily routines and most importantly to love one another like there's no tomorrow.

We are sooooo thankful and just purely ecstatic that Mark has beat Cancer and we've gotten through this together having learned from this experience and grown stronger and closer together. We can not wait to celebrate Mark's triumph in the Bahamas soon and again we can't thank all of you enough for your kind words, love and support. I can't tell you how many countless times one of you has reached out via my blog or Instagram messenger or facebook messenger to check in on us, let us know you are praying for us, to offer to help if you could, and mainly to share your kindness and uplifting words. It has made such a huge impact on me and on us so thank you!!

We look forward to what this journey has in store for us next ... XOXO

Summer Wedding Guest Series

Three different dresses styled for three different weddings

1. The Enchanted Garden

Heading out to a friend's outdoor picturesque enchanted garden wedding? This dress is perfect as the material is luxurious yet lightweight. Flowing perfectly in a mid Summer's night breeze. Yellow is also a major color of the season and just makes me happy. Paired with my pastel rainbow hue chunky heels adds a little pop of personality and that wow factor. Because of where the dress falls, just at the ankles, you'll want to have some statement shoes that are still comfortable for an outdoor setting like these. Dress and shoes fit true to size.

2. The Formal Affair

We all know it. The classic Church wedding and beautiful ballroom celebration (much like my own wedding). Don't be basic this Summer in a solid black floor length gown just because the wedding is formal. Instead you can totally make a statement in this goooorgeous high-low floral ball gown. It's on sale too and perfect for twirling around the dance floor with your girls and loved one! Pair with strappy stilettos and some trending statement earrings like the ones I'm wearing. Sized up one in the dress (4).

3. The Tropical Destination

Summer is that perfect time of the year for a tropical getaway to your bestie's destination wedding. If you find yourself needing to jet off to Mexico, or the Caribbean for your friend to tie the knot, than this dress combo is for you. It's got pockets too, a major plus! Also its very breasy and comfy for the beach. I styled it with these fun pom-pom earrings to add that Caribbean charm, and a yellow straw clutch to tie in the colors. I could've done simple tan sandals but what fun would that be? So I uniquely continued my rainbow color pattern into the shoes, again tying everything together for an extra tropical look. They are slides with a teeny heel on the back so they're beach walking approved and easy to slide on and off. Pretty much everything I am wearing here is also on sale. Size down one in the dress (00).

A tribute to Kate Spade

Mental Health, Cancer, Kate Spade, Work-Wear and how it all relates

Hi guys!! Today I am giving the largest presentation I've ever done in my life. And I am sooooo nervous!! Mainly because I want it to be super impactful and also not completely black out up there and forget everything I wanted to say. Not to mention, it can absolutely effect my professional career and is on a stage, with bright lights, a microphone, monitors, and in front of the President, Vice President, CEO, and basically the entire company...all 200+ people. Yeah no big deal. Time to Sink or Swim Jessica!

I decided to do this presentation though because I am always preaching to you all to live an on purpose life, be the best you can be and to embrace your fears for personal development and to change other people's lives. So I figured I better practice what I preach!

I also realized that through the recent challenges that Mark and I have had to face through his diagnosis of Hodgkin Lymphoma, I have a unique story and empowering moral I can share with you all. I'll talk about this more in my presentation, which I may or may not share some on my Insta stories with you all so stay tuned...but I'd like to make the rather bold statement that struggling with a mental illness like depression can be just as life threatening as struggling to beat cancer. As we've seen with recent tragedies like Kate Spade.

Kate Spade is someone who apparently struggled with depression and possibly health care professionals for some odd 5 years. She is someone I look up to as a fashion Icon, Inspiration and role model, who seemed to have a beautiful life, beautiful clothes, and nothing but success and happiness at her fingertips. I know the news of her tragic death took the world by surprise. Especially being her brand is boasting with happiness, color, and modern-retro, fun flare! It was such a shock and sad day to learn what happened to her. We need to start recognizing Mental health more in this world and giving it the attention it deserves while working harder to detach the stigma that's associated with a mental illness.

I say all of this as it relates to my professional career and the urgency I will talk about creating within these clinics to change their habits and to change them now.  I everyday am empowering Psychiatrist's with the knowledge that a personalized approach to treatment does exist in this modern world, and to embrace this genetic test and use it as a super-hero like power to help get many of their patients into remission sooner than ever before. It truly is a game changer to the ever complex field of mental health and treatment options. It's so important to get them to change their habits by embracing and utilizing genetic insight in their practice now, not ten years from now. Hope does exist through a Genetically guided treatment and the many other parts that go into treating a mental illness.

In honor of Kate Spade, her beautiful legacy, and tragic loss to this world, I will be wearing all Kate Spade dresses during the work week at our National Sales Meeting. In fact I will be giving my presentation in one of her fabulous dresses. I think it will be the good luck charm and peace I need to get through this presentation. ----> Update - It worked!!

I want all of you working women out there to be inspired and to also know that you can dress designer (like Kate Spade) to work on a budget! I signed up for the Rent the Runway "Update" program as they are running a discount when you sign up and can cancel at any time. Basically for $80 a month I get to choose four outfits and send them back a month later. That's one new work outfit a week, which in the interim I can utilize the staple work pieces I have built up in my wardrobe for the other days of the week. I love having this affordable option without having to pay the hefty price tag to own the dress and use it limitedly. My work-wear is always fresh and lively now thanks to this Rent the Runway option. They have other options and ways to rent which you can check out on their website here.

Thank you for wishing me luck on this presentation and please know that you are not alone if you are struggling with depression or a mental health concern. Know that you can get the help you need to get better, feel better, and live an on purpose life. I hope you all have an inspired and lovely rest of your week!

Say you'll see me again...

Even if it's just pretend! So it is pretty clear I drew some inspiration from my fave T- Swift for this styled shoot! I seriously had so much fun taking these pictures with my dad's airplane (you can see some behind the scenes footage on my Instagram Story highlights titled Behind the Gram). I want to know where y'all draw inspiration from when you are in a creative mood? I find inspo in music, old fashion magazines, films, and from traveling.

I thought it would be fun to re-create a look from Taylor's video "Wildest Dreams" mainly because that music video and song are just sooo dreamy. It's shot in Africa and has that retro styled fashion that is so true to my personal style. Also slightly because my dad is a pilot and we actually have an airplane!

wildest dreams.jpeg
gracie and airplane.jpeg

I remember as a little girl taking flights with my mom and dad and little brother in this plane. We have the ear sets that you can talk to each other through, and my dad would always say "clear" before firing up the plane's engine. He has maintained this beautiful Cessna plane all these years and the ironic thing is as I got older I became an anxious flyer. I haven't been up in his plane in years! Maybe one day I'll do it and write a post about facing your fears.

Rainbow Striped Swimwear

My Favorite Rainbow Striped Swimwear for Summer

We had so much fun at my parents house over the fourth of July at the pool! We grilled out and took Archie in the pool for the first time. He was a little hesitant of the water at first but was soon a champion! I found the swimsuit I'm wearing in the pictures for under $100! I love how the pastel rainbow and striped bright colors are so in right now! If you live in Florida this time of year, survival mode is pretty much in the pool or the beach as it is soooo hot outside!

For Sizing information, I sized up one to a medium as I have a larger bust and am tall. I would definitely recommend sizing up one if you have a longer torso like me. It was a perfect fit and made a splash in the pool with my flamingo float and furry friends over the holiday!

If you are looking for a fun, super girly dress this Summer, look no further. I will probably be wearing this adorable number again on our trip to the Bahamas soon! It took me back in time this Hot Summer afternoon, perfect for some Birthday cake Ice cream and relaxation in the sunshine.

All American Disney Day with Olivaceous LA

Boardwalk olivaceous outfit.JPG

Olivaceous la two piece set.JPG
Disney Boardwalk Atlantic Dance.JPG

Retro American Style with one of my favorite brands

Hi loves!! I'm checking in with y'all today from one of my favorite charming places in Orlando, Disney's Boardwalk. When walking up you are instantly transported back to the 1940s and 50s with the music you hear. It smells of sweet treats and hot dogs which is surprisingly pleasant and adds to the carnival type of feeling. It's super fun for a double day date as you can rent the family sized bicycles while sipping margaritas or stroll the walk with a sweet treat like Mark and I did on a hot Summer day.

I couldn't have asked for a cuter, more appropriate outfit for this Summer outing. I felt like I fit the scene perfectly while being true to my slightly retro, always classic, personal style. I absolutely adore the brand Olivaceous LA which can be found at Bloomingdale's, because their pieces all have a cool girl-fun vibe about them with slight retro twists while remaining classic at the same time. From colorful bold prints, high-waisted sets that take me back in time, to classic stripes and polka dots. Their clothes are definitely suited for the classic modern woman who exudes confidence in her own unique style. I honestly think I could wear this brand every day of my life and not get bored of it because they have so much to offer that I simply LOVE!

They're designer pieces that also won't break the bank which is a super plus for a girl who is sometimes on a bit of a budget. Most pieces tend to be under $100! I actually scooped this two piece combo on sale and you can shop it by clicking the product images below this verbiage. Have a magical day friends!

Three colorfully retro fourth of July Looks

fourth of july outfit 1.JPG

Three different Patriotic styled outfits

Can you say red, white and pink? In true Jessica (or should I say Victoria) fashion I've added elements of all colors from the rainbow, including pink, to make for an extra fabulous & colorful Fourth of July! Keep scrolling to see three different Independence Day Looks and how to style them to add that retro flare/pop of personality to the picture.

fourthof july outfit 3.JPG

1. Backyard BBQ Ready

This little number is lightweight to beat that Summer heat and comfortable enough to party in all afternoon at your besties Fourth of July backyard BBQ! I added these blush retro shades for another element of color and to add that 1950s flare!

2. Tropical Hotel Ready

Heading out of town for the Holiday? Not to worry, I've got you covered for that swanky hotel poolside party. The pastel pink and flamingo straw bag takes me back to Las Vegas 1980s style and I'm loving it. This element alone takes me back to that time. Retro Accomplished! This dress also has a faded red stripe that pulls more of a pink hue, which goes perfectly with the blue and white stripes, making this dress festive and not your average just red, white and blue ensemble. Pink makes everything better. Am I right loves?!

3. Picnic Park-side or Beach-front

You're sure to be a show stopper in this get up. I'll bring the drinks, you bring the snacks! Just walking up with these classic Coca-Cola bottles brings that retro vibe. I also paired the crop top with a red high waisted skirt. Not to mention the waist also adds that retro vibe, as do the cat eye sunnies. But, as if that all wasn't cute enough, the skirt has a feminine frilly hem line, making it über feminine too! I chose to pair the skirt with this rainbow crop top instead of the matching red top because I think it's just much cuter, unique and more lively. Live colorfully ladies!

Pink Palm Print Two Piece

Pink + Palm + Print + Perfection

I paired this boho chic two piece palm print number with this ultra chic, earthy Cult Gaia Pink Acrylic bag (Size Small) the other weekend for some Summer fun! I am OBSESSED with this bag and it comes in so many different colors (linked in product images below for you), although you've most likely seen the Natural tan one all over Instagram already. I saw this blush pink one as so unique and had to have it! I decided to order the small instead of the mini and it's the perfect size. For the difference of only $20 it was worth it to go up one size. Also the two piece set I am wearing fits very true to size.

On a completely different topic, our house was recently struck by lighting! :( Ugh!! Yes, the house we just moved into 2 months ago... it's been frustrating and tough timing for us right now so you're support right now means the world! I'm dealing with a lot of change at work and at home so it's always nice to hear from you all. If you have any advice on any of this (as I am a first time home owner), to protect us in the future, I'd love to hear it. We recently found out from our energy company that for only $7 we can have a whole home surge protector installed..so worth it and added that service to the list! Hope you all are having a lovely week! Thank God Its Friday!!

Lemons into Lemonade With my Lemon Print Dress

For the Love of Lemons

Hi there friends!! How are you all today? It's time for a temperature check (or so they call it at my job-job). I hope you each are doing fabulous and well! As I often talk about, life is definitely not perfect 24/7 but I always try to stay positive. It's honestly been a rough week for me so far, starting with last Thursday when I shared on Instagram that our house was struck by lightning. So many headaches trying to get things back in order and all of the insurance appointments scheduled for our damages and losses. Don't even get me started on all the changes going on at work-work, and then how about just Adulting in general! I seriously sometimes want to turn back time and be a baby again. Do you feel me out there?! (I'm Joking but...not really lol)

But hey, it can always be much, much worse. And honestly this has been a good learning lesson and helps keep whats important in perspective. It's so vital to play your Ace in a bad hand of cards, or to find the silver lining as people often say. Like how about this ADORABLE LEMON PRINT DRESS that I am wearing and literally found for under $35!!

On that much simpler note, I seriously think I found my favorite new online shop for the CUTEST SUNDRESSES all $35 or less!! I know you are thinking it is too good to be true but I promise it's not. Their shipping also doesn't take nearly as much time as many of the less expensive on-line clothing retailers, which is a huge plus!

So for the Love of Lemons and turning things into Lemonade, do yourself a favor and shop my fabulous Lemony outfit by clicking the product images below! :)

Secret Gardens With Charming Charlie

Life Should Be Charming Always

One fine day, I was driving through my neighborhood and discovered a new entrance/exit. But that wasn't all that I discovered...I literally found this hidden butterfly garden in my neighborhood! I don't think it gets any more charming than that! So of course I had to go back and take some pictures for you all {Naturally}. While we were there we saw only a couple Butterfly so maybe it's seasonal, but still pretty whimsical and cool! And so I've deemed it my very own secret garden. It was the perfect place on my way out to explore while wearing my new Charming Charlie Bracelet, and necklace. My dress is also on SALE now for under $75! So keep dreaming my loves. Dreams really do come true and Secret Gardens like these really do exist. PS_Size down one if you order it. I am wearing XS here. :) Tata for now...

Nordstrom Sale Goes Live with 5 Outfit Ideas

Nordstrom Sale Goes Live to Everyone! #TopFiveOutfits

Today is the day!! The Nordstrom Sale is open to everyone starting today and ends on August 6th! In the spirit of this Happy Friday, I'm posting about my latest top 8 Outfits from the sale. I'll go through sizing details for each look plus identify which staple pieces to splurge on and where you can save and still look like a million bucks!

Just as I mentioned before, I love this sale because almost everything in the sale is new for the fall season, and when the sale ends, the items will go back up to their original prices. Where else can you get brand new items on sale? Usually its the complete opposite, which is why this strategy is amazing! You're not getting the season end left overs, your getting the brand new trends for Fall! So let's kick it off with Look number one...

1. Lush Cold Shoulder Blouse. It's under $30 and perfect for Brunch or Date night. Fit is true to size.  I am wearing a size Small. I wouldn't size down as the top is designed to have a slightly higher hemline in the front so, sizing down may make it to short. 2. Rag and Bone High Waist Denim. These are regularly almost $200 and reduced to $130 . They are a staple piece you will wear over and over again through the season. Splurge here. True to size as I am wearing a size 25. They are slightly stretchy and a softer denim making them comfy.

1. Lush Deep V Neck Pocket Tee. This is so soft, fits true to size as I am wearing a size Small and is literally under $25. 2. AG ex Boyfriend Crop Slim Jeans. I can't stress how comfy these jeans are. Perfect for errand running or a casual evening.  I had to size down one to a 24. They are originally $225 marked down to $149. So worth the money! 3. Steve Madden Block Heel Bootie. These Booties remind me of a similar designer pair that are about 6 or 7 times higher in price. These beauties are under $100! In boots I usually have to size up from a 7 to a 7 and a half, as was the case here so they fit true to your typical boot size.

1. Chelsea 28 Bell Sleeve Sweater. This is a soft, quality, stylish sweater with pretty details at under $60! I always size down one in this brand. I'm wearing a XS. 2. Vince Camuto Booties. A great staple piece and very comfortable. True to size and I'm wearing a 7 1/2. Under $100! Belt is a splurge by Ferragamo linked for you below.

1. Off the Shoulder Poplin Sweater. Size down one. I'm wearing an XS. Perfect top for staying on trend and transitioning from desk to dusk. Under $60! Denim under $200. Steve Madden Boots under $100.

1. BP Cardigan. Only $32. Fit is true to size as I am wearing a size Small. It is super soft, has just the right length and is a great price. Comes in several colors. 2. Lush Deep V Neck Top. Under $25 and True to Size. :)

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Must Haves

My Nordstrom Sale Absolute Must Haves plus my new Favorite Cut offs! #Nsale

Hello there my loves! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has arrived and I'm now starting to get some of the items I ordered in the mail and its like Christmas every day! I love this sale because the sale includes new items released for the Fall season that are reduced significantly during the sale, and then afterwards the items go back up to their original prices.

I find that to be genius because most sales are just sales to close out inventory that hasn't sold yet to prepare for the new season. With the Nordstrom Anniversary sale though, its just the opposite. Trust me, it is in no way shape or form Fall time in Florida yet, but I know once the season hits, I will be eyeing all of these fabulous fall items and wishing I had bought them when they were included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

So take my word for it. Although you may not need or want these sweaters and cozy pullovers now, in several months you will. So buy it up now while the items are on sale why don't ya?! There is early access for Nordstrom card holders 7/13-7/20th and THiS FRIDAY THE 21ST, THE SALE OPENS TO THE PUBLIC!! :)

These Jamies FYI may be one of the best things I ordered. They are the softest material ever!!!

My Nordstrom-Sale Beauty & Travel Picks

I absolutely love the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for all of the amazing deals you can find on current-up-to-date products! Everything in this post is WELL UNDER $100 {Yay!!}. I'm going to go through this photo of my Beauty and Travel favorites starting with the first image from left to right. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!!

First, I had to order the Mac "look in a box" eye make-up kit as the color is so pretty for summer and I love their make-up. It was a total steal at just under $40 for it all!

Next up are these pretty coconut scent copper candles. They're a great deal but still a bit of a splurge for candles, however I couldn't resist the scent and pretty rose colored exterior. It will go perfect in my kitchen full of copper details!

So I am totally that person that finds it so hard to fall asleep on a plane. However on longer flights I try really hard to to pass the time, and sometimes I truly am exhausted traveling. It's so much easier for me to relax when I have my neck pillow with me, and when I saw this Ombre faux fur travel pillow, I was completely sold! It looks so luxurious and soft! Will let you know what I think when I get it :)

Here I found the cutest travel size marble manicure kit. Its marble and rose gold, so that's a double win in my book! I hate it when I am traveling and get a hang nail and don't have anything to help with that! Problem now solved.

Next up is one of my faves as I already have this product in the ruby color. I'm talking about the Sugar "fresh" and "rosé" lip balm. It's ultra nourishing, lasts pretty long, and is the most pigmented lip balm I've found that has SPF in it. Not only does it nourish, but it protects and looks fabulous! I am so happy this was included in the N-sale this year becuase I can always use more of this stuff at a great price of just $26 for the two. Normally one alone is $18.

Last but not least, I always travel with business cards because you never know who you'll meet and when you'll need one. I love this "Girl Boss" leather card holder to keep organized.
